Here’s the first EweMove Top 10 for you, it's a look back at our 'Milestone Moments'.

1. Launching The Pilot for a Hybrid Agent

In June 2013 a dozen ‘pilot’ franchisees set about testing the EweMove approach to see how customers engaged with a new style of hybrid agent with fun and friendly branding. Four of our pilots are still in the business today, three of them are top performing franchisees and the other is our Head of Recruitment - Hannah Pepper.

2. Our First Rental Property

For the first 6 months, EweMove was a Letting Agent only so one of the first properties we advertised was a flat to rent in Scunthorpe in June 2013. The landlord instructed our agent to find a good quality tenant and fully manage the property. We’re very proud of our lettings heritage after being founded by two portfolio landlords and today we manage over 3,500 properties nationally.

3. Our First Sale Property

The pilot phase highlighted that customers were more than ready for a forward-thinking hybrid agent but by only being a Letting Agent we were unable to help our landlords who were looking to sell and other homesellers who liked the look of what EweMove had to offer. So, in December 2013 at our first conference event residential sales was launched! Our first sale property, also advertised in December 13 was a ground floor apartment in Grove Park, London.

4. New Lamb Training and First Launches

In January 2014 we delivered the first training course for franchisees who had invested with us, these business owners were the first branches to launch outside of the pilots and they were all brand new to estate agency. Amongst these first franchisees was our now MD Nick Neill, who launched the York franchise with his wife Sarah!

5. The Sheep Pen

In 2015 we made our HQ home at The Sheep Pen, complete with fake grass and The Meadow meeting room. Moving to The Sheep Pen gave us the space to run training workshops from the office. Our central support team, client accounting, marketing, IT and our MD are all office based today.

6. Our First 5 Star Trustpilot Reviews

In 2015 we partnered with customer review website Trustpilot. Within a few days we shot to the #1 spot becoming the Most Trusted UK Estate Agent! What we really love about Trustpilot is being able to read the genuine stories of how our franchisees have helped customers - some of the reviews are outstanding and if you haven’t had a look you really should. Today we have over 17,500 reviews, we are rated 5 Star and Excellent - and we still reply to every single review!

7. Award Winning

We’ve been entering and winning industry awards since 2014 including The Times and Sunday Times Estate Agency of the Year Awards, The Negotiator Awards and The Best Estate Agency Guide Awards taking our trophy count to 37 industry awards! Our most recent win was the triple at The Best Estate Agency Guide Awards in 2022 - Best National Sales, Best National Lettings and Best National Sales & Lettings Agent! These awards are based on a large scale mystery shopping exercise of all agents in the UK.

8. Joining The Property Franchise Group Plc

In September 2016 we were acquired by The Property Franchise Group Plc. We’d caught their eye with our rapid growth and award wins and as a group of traditional estate agency brands including Martin & Co, Whitegates, CJ Hole, Parkers and Ellis & Co they wanted to add an innovative hybrid agency. We are now the single largest brand within the Group - which also includes Hunters Estate Agents and The Mortgage Genie. Together The Property Franchise Group is one of the biggest property groups in the UK.

9. Our Biggest Conference Event

Each year we bring the whole network together to regroup, share best practice and recognise success at a national event. In 2018 we levelled up our conference and made the annual awards a Black Tie evening dinner. Since then the conferences have continued to get bigger and better and we’ve moved venue twice as we’ve outgrown the space! Our next event is at the end of March, it’s going to be impressive!

10. 191 Franchised Areas

Today we have 191 franchise areas sold. It’s as exciting now as it was 10 years ago when we sold our first franchise - when we didn’t even have a franchise information pack and hadn’t actually sold a property - but that’s another story! Over the last 10 years we’ve had some fantastic people join our business from both agency and non-agency backgrounds, and whilst some have sold and moved on to other things they’ve all helped shape EweMove into what it is today. And of course, we’re working hard to grow the brand even further to 400 at the end of 2024!
